Dive Brief:
- Forbes has partnered with Statista, a market research company, to compile its list of top recruitment firms in the U.S. The firms collected more than 14,000 responses from 30,000 recruiters and over 4,000 candidates and HR managers who had worked with a recruitment agency over the last three years.
- Those surveyed could nominate up to 10 firms they’ve utilized in two categories: executive search firms, hiring for candidates of $100,000 and above, and professional search firms hiring for candidates under the $100,000 mark.
- Topping both lists was Korn Ferry, a company that works with 93% of the Fortune 100. Forbes reports a company can expect to pay over $4,000 on average to take on a single staffer, with an average of nearly 24 days to make the hire.
Dive Insight:
As the talent shortage continues to vex businesses, search firms are helping many companies hone in on talent for a quicker, more effective hire. Many recruitment agencies focus on a specific talent pool – IT or sales, for example. For HR departments with a single professional manager or recruiter, using a search firm may be the only option in a competitive market.
Competition in the recruitment industry is tight, with many firms moving against ex-employees who poach their client and employee pools. Although some reports indicate that major players like Google and Facebook are looking to disrupt the recruiting industry, optimism is on the rise for 2018. According to surveys, 75% of agencies anticipate an increase in revenue for the year.
