In November, HR leaders in tech, AI, accounting and academia — among other industries — shifted into new roles.
University of California, Los Angeles
Christine Lovely, vice president and CHRO at Cornell University, will depart her role to become the first vice chancellor for campus human resources and CPO at University of California, Los Angeles, Cornell and UCLA announced Nov. 19. She will oversee all of campus HR and provide strategic guidance in staff recruitment, development, support and retention.
Lovely joined Cornell in 2022 from the University of California, Davis, where she was associate vice chancellor and CHRO. She begins her new role at UCLA on Dec. 18.
AlphaSense
AI market intelligence platform AlphaSense added Nilka Thomas as CPO, the company announced Nov. 10. Thomas will oversee global people strategy, including talent acquisition, culture, organizational development, employee experience and inclusion.
Thomas previously served as CPO at Lyft while the company went through its IPO, and before that, spent more than a decade in senior HR and talent leadership roles at Google.
Elevate
Karen Bennett joined Elevate, a national platform for accounting, tax and advisory firms, as chief people and platform officer, the company announced Nov. 18. She will oversee people strategy and leadership development and will work closely with Elevate’s digital, technology and AI teams on embedding data, automation and AI-driven tools, the company said.
She was previously vice president of strategy and operations at tax accounting firm Citron Cooperman, and before that, served as CHRO at Berdon LLP.
AuditBoard
Risk mitigation platform AuditBoard has added Paaras Parker as CHRO, the company announced Nov. 3. She will oversee the people team in her new role, with a focus on aligning all AuditBoard employees with company objectives.
Parker most recently served as CPO for Greenhouse Software, and prior to that, served as CHRO for Paycor.
Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare
Maeghan Sulham has joined healthcare data group CAQH as its first CHRO, the organization announced Nov. 6. She will oversee the company’s HR function, including talent strategy, organizational design, leadership development, HR operations and employee engagement.
Previously, Sulham was senior vice president of talent management at Risepoint.
