In the compliance world, some lawsuits can drag on for years. Other times, the parties come to an agreement, often without the defendant admitting liability, to bring the case to a close faster.
This month, HR Dive has covered eight lawsuits that ended in settlements. One included an accusation of disability discrimination levied at Kroger for not allowing an employee with nerve damage tied to cancer treatments to sit while working at the cash register. Another involved Pearson Education allegedly requiring use of benefits, leave and training platforms that were not fully accessible to workers with visual impairments.
