Fitbit Captivate SF and NYC were filled with passionate wellness gurus, enthusiastic thought-leaders, and innovative professionals in the health and wellness space. First, we hit the ground running in our own backyard, San Francisco, with a day full of learning, inspiration and networking.
The day kicked off with an informative session from Ken Resnicow, PhD, Professor of Health Behavior & Health Education at the University of Michigan. He dove into the topic of motivation, and the important role it plays on creating healthy behavior changes that stick. From there, breakout sessions were conducted to allow attendees to pave their personal path to a successful day. Breakouts consisted of customer success stories, as well as other trending topics such as the integration of wearable device data into wellness programs, the ins and outs of HIPAA, the importance of tracking ROI in wellness programs and more.
The second half of the day was just as action-packed, covering topics that encompass the essentials of a modern corporate wellness program. We’re talking the importance of sleep, weight management and nutrition, as well as mindfulness in the workplace. Meaningful questions were asked and best practices were openly discussed among peers.
The day ended on a major high note, featuring the productivity expert, UJ Ramdas, Co-Founder of Intelligent Change and creator of the Productivity Planner and The Five Minute Journal. UJ discussed his take on ‘living your most productive life,’ and even provided actionable exercises and takeaways to encourage productive days, everyday.
Amongst the content-packed agenda, time was carved out for ‘Fitbreaks’ where attendees could move, stretch out (literally), and snack on some healthy eats. Participants also had a chance to meet fellow Captivate goers with similar interests and responsibilities relating to workplace health and wellness. The 200+ Captivators left the day full of knowledge and eager to take what they learned back to their workplace.
Next up, we hit the Big Apple to share our wellness knowledge with the east coast. Fitbit Captivate NY was crafted in a similar format to San Francisco, but had a few fresh twists. There was a new customer story featuring Emory University, as well as a special session all about how social connectedness can help people get, and stay healthy. NY attendees left inspired, encouraged and ready to take their learnings and skills back to their employees.
For the grand finale, we’re off to Chicago on Tuesday, September 19th to wrap up our Fitbit Captivate tour. Our final stop will feature popular highlights from our first two stops, but will be chock-full of new surprises to make this event really unique. The day will be packed with noteworthy sessions from the previous tour stops, as well as feature some new sessions, speakers and activities. We’re even ending the day with the Healthiest Employers Wellness Awards, which recognizes the nation’s leaders in the corporate wellness space. This is a can’t-miss event for those interested in learning the essentials of a successful corporate wellness program. Will we be seeing you in the Windy City? We sure hope so!
