With graduation season right around the corner, a new crop of young workers will be looking to obtain their first jobs, if they haven’t already.
In an era of AI, entry-level jobs have shifted in shape and availability, as have training opportunities. But for Generation Z interns recently surveyed by KPMG U.S., the most important experiences in their internships were those that couldn’t be digitized — including hands-on experience, mentorships and network building.
Gen Z may also need more assistance than previous generations when it comes to fitting into the workplace, experts previously told HR Dive. This has been driven in part by the tumultuous times — such as the COVID-19 pandemic — that have marked their most formative years.
