Due to high demand, talent is choosey. And with tech hubs popping up across the country, finding a lucrative career in the tech space is easy to come by.
For many companies, regardless of where their headquarters are, tech talent will meet them there. Hired's research indicates job opportunities readily exist outside of the Bay Area.
Austin is home to Amazon-owned Whole Foods. The company is seeking project managers, packaged software engineers, and a solution architect in its headquarters, according to current job listings. The grocer experienced a 3.6 point gain in customer experience since its 2017 acquisition.
Tech workers nationally ranked privately-owned Airbnb as the most desirable place to work. The company has been using machine learning and artificial intelligence systems since 2014 to improve the app's personalization capabilities. And in 2017, the company launched an in-house university-style program for training its workforce in data science. The company has at least 15 data scientist roles vacant at the moment, including an internship for 2020.
