- Virgin Pulse, wellness technology provider launched its new social wellness platform, Virgin Pulse Ignite. The new platform is an addition to the company’s suite of technology-based platforms that focuses partly on team-based wellness efforts.
- Ignite engages employees in games that help them set and achieve health goals and improve their well-being. The platform’s activities are designed to challenge users’ knowledge of destinations, history and healthy habits. The platform also is used to improve workers’ onboarding experiences.
- Ron Hildebrandt, senior vice president of Products, Virgin Pulse, said, “Wellbeing challenges are popular for good reason: they’re fun, they’re competitive, they inspire teamwork, they get people moving, and they provide a common goal for colleagues across organizations.”
Tech platforms like Virgin Pulse, and now Ignite, can help workers achieve health and wellness goals through social networks within and outside of the workplace. Team-based wellness has increased in popularity alongside the proliferation of wearables in the workplace.
Having that data more readily available allows wellness games to be more engaging and fun. And when these platforms make virtual experiences fun, employees might be more likely to achieve their goals.
