- If happy workers tend to be productive workers, some lucky HR leaders have major location advantage over everyone else for attracting productive, happy talent. A report from Indeed, the job site, tells of 25 cities across America where employees have the highest job satisfaction.
- Indeed checked into critical factors that can contribute to workplace happiness/job satisfaction across America, including things such as compensation, work-life balance, job security and workplace culture. It then analyzed those factors across millions of reviews from current and ex-employees in the nation's top 25 major metropolitan areas.
- At the top of the list is Los Angeles, followed by Miami, San Diego, Providence and San Francisco.
Dive Insight:
Indeed found a high proportion of happy workers living in California, as five of the top 10 cities are located in the Golden State, including San Jose, Silicon Valley's "capital."
Indeed also created a list of 25 U.S. cities where job satisfaction was poor, and at the top of that list is Denver, followed by Indianapolis, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Richmond, VA.
On a final note, Indeed also ranked countries based for overall job satisfaction and Colombia tops the list, with the U.S. finishing at 23rd.
