January brought a number of job changes for HR leaders, including several promotions.
Chipotle
Ilene Eskenazi, Chipotle’s chief human resources officer, has been appointed chief legal and human resources officer, effective immediately, the fast-casual giant announced Jan. 12. Prior to joining Chipotle in 2023 as CHRO, she held joint roles at Petco Health and Wellness Co., Boardriders (previously Quiksilver), and Red Bull North America. She was previously a corporate attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
Bridgestone
Michele Herlein will serve as chief people officer for Bridgestone, according to a company announcement, leading its HR function across the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa. The appointment marks a return for Herlein, who previously worked as Bridgestone’s vice president for talent, organization and culture, according to her LinkedIn page. She also held leadership positions at Barge Design Solutions and is founder and CEO of CultureMax.
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University
Darryl Wright-Greene was named CHRO of N.C. A&T, effective Feb. 2, the school announced last month. Wright-Greene will join the university from St. Petersburg College where he served as chief human resources and talent officer. He also previously worked in HR at Dallas College Richland Campus and Goodwill Industries of Houston, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Kyndryl
IT services firm Kyndryl named Mark Paulek as its next chief human resources officer, effective April 1. Paulek is currently senior vice president for HR at the company, and previously held HR roles at Aptive, Fiserv and Honeywell, according to his LinkedIn page. Paulek’s appointment underscores Kyndryl’s focus on talent development and succession planning, the organization said in a statement.
WWEX Group
The third-party logistics provider behind Worldwide Express, GlobalTranz, Unishippers, JEAR Logistics and BLX Logistics announced the promotion of Shelly Patman to CHRO. Patman has served in HR positions at WWEX Group since 2017. She previously held HR positions at RealPage and worked as a recruiter, according to her profile on LinkedIn.
