VitalSource acquires Intrepid
- VitalSource has acquired the assets of Seattle-based learning tech firm Intrepid Learning for an undisclosed amount, according to a statement. Intrepid's combined professional and corporate business platform will soon re-launch under the brand Intrepid by VitalSource.
- VitalSource also said the new integration will feature two learning technology offerings — Intrepid Learn and Intrepid Discover — that aim to help customers resolve critical business challenges.
- Intrepid's portfolio includes larger clients Microsoft, Korn Ferry and Hay Group. VitalSource's user base has grown to more than 20 million users globally, the company said.
Employee learning continues to grow with new startups, partnership agreements, acquisitions and innovations in the space. As corporations look to on-demand training for staff, whether for upskilling or ongoing growth, the marketplace is open for innovation.
While competition for learning dollars may be stiff, recent data shows education spending and employee training hours continue to grow. For the fourth year in a row, employers spent more money and time on dedicated employee training, a survey from the Association of Talent Development shows.
