Study: One-third of Fortune 500 companies turn to marketing tools for recruiting
- The SmashFly Recruitment Marketing Report Card was released recently, indicating that 34% of Fortune 500 companies are increasingly turning to modern marketing methods in the pursuit of talent. Companies were graded on an A-D scale based on how well-versed they are with marketing concepts.
- As compared to last year, SmashFly noted that there has been an 80% increase in the number of companies using recruitment marketing platforms to augment their applicant tracking systems.
- In a press release, Mike Hennessy, Founder and CEO of SmashFly, said that,"The most competitive and successful companies are harnessing recruitment marketing, which gives them the edge." He added, "This emerging technology is a strategy for long-term growth."
Marketing and recruitment have finally come together as a powerful resource for attracting and recruiting candidates. Marketing tools are a natural fit for the work that top recruiters do — connecting with talent where they are most likely to be found. The increase in the use of social media, mobile devices, and virtual communication apps by candidates all lend themselves to recruitment.
Top companies understand this and therefore are using marketing to improve the results of their recruiting efforts. Additionally, the analytics that accompany many marketing platforms can be helpful insight for recruiters to access, which only helps them be more effective in their work.
