This newly released report from IBM and Globoforce highlights global research from 23,000 employees in 45 countries across multiple industries and job functions.

The Employee Experience Index reveals that a positive employee experience leads to lower turnover, higher performance, and more discretionary effort at work. The report measures five key tenets:

  • Belonging - feeling part of a team, group or organization

  • Purpose - understanding why one’s work matters

  • Achievement - a sense of accomplishment in the work that is done

  • Happiness - the pleasant feeling arising in and around work

  • Vigor - the presence of energy, enthusiasm and excitement at work
