BOSTON, MA: Today, GattiHR released its 2019 Workforce Leadership Survey Trends Report which, confirms the workforce challenges businesses face worldwide. This 3rd annual survey was conducted in partnership with the PRAXI Alliance, a 28-member global network of Workforce Management firms. With responses from nearly 1,400 Business Leaders in 33 countries and more than 17 industries, this year’s survey identifies the critical workforce management challenges organizations face to remain competitive.
“Change as a constant” has become a cliché, but the C-Suite is increasingly recognizing that the accelerating velocity of change is exceeding organizations’ ability to absorb and adjust. Developing leaders who are data-driven and decisive, but also collaborative, empathic, patient and committed to creating supportive and productive workplace environments is their biggest challenge.
“Talent has the advantage in this market, and leaders recognize that the revolving door of constant hiring and replacing is a flawed solution. There’s much more emphasis finally on looking inward, and investing in the things that engage, develop and retain great talent,” said Tom Connolly, CEO at GattiHR. “Finding or building new leaders is a global top priority. For all the emphasis on the shortage of technical skills, skills like critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving and project management are proving to be in even shorter supply, and they are often what determines success or failure. The things we used to call “soft” skills including, empathy, patience, flexibility and resilience are the skillsets necessary to create environments where people can do their best work.”
