A Chicago-based audio branding specialist is encouraging conversations around mental health and wellbeing by investing in an employee support app.
Staff at PHMG will soon be able to report any confidential workplace or home issues anonymously via Tootoot – a unique online and app-based platform.
Originally created to support students within schools, Tootoot now improves worker wellbeing by allowing users to send confidential messages about their work or home life to dedicated mentors within PHMG. Depending of the nature of the query, mentors will either advise on the best course of action or they will put the employee in touch with external specialists who can help.
“Research by Mental Health America found 63% of employees reported their workplace stress has a significant impact on their mental and behavioral health¹, highlighting the importance of addressing worker concerns,” said Peter Evans, CEO North America at PHMG.
“By giving staff the opportunity to share any home or workplace issues in a confidential space, we hope it will help alleviate problems they are facing and ultimately normalize open conversations on mental health.”
Employees at the Chicago-based company have also chosen The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to benefit from PHMG’s fundraising activity in 2019.
Evans added: “Our staff have a strong appreciation of the importance of good mental health so were keen to include a relevant charity on this year’s list of beneficiaries. The National Alliance on Mental Illness is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.”
Tootoot will be offered to all employees as part of the company’s extensive ‘PH Perks’ program, joining other wellbeing benefits such as life insurance and 401k.
PHMG is the world's largest audio branding agency with more than 32,000 clients in 39 countries worldwide, including Coca-Cola, Audi and Adidas.
