Skillsoft Appoints Tara O’Sullivan as Chief Marketing Officer and Mark Onisk as Chief Content Officer
Promotions prepare corporate learning leader for next phase of growth following its digital transformation
BOSTON, June 20, 2017 — Skillsoft, the global leader in corporate learning, announced today the promotions of Tara O’Sullivan to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Mark Onisk to Chief Content Officer (CCO). Both appointments are tied to the executives’ roles in Skillsoft’s successful digital transformation and position the company for its next phase of growth.
Tara O’Sullivan joined Skillsoft as Chief Creative Officer in 2016 to run marketing as well as modernize the company’s content product portfolio. In her role as CMO, she ensures that everything the Skillsoft Group does, especially its digital technology strategy, presents the company’s brands, voice and vision consistently and authoritatively. Her responsibilities include leading all aspects of Skillsoft Group’s corporate, product and event marketing as well as the company’s corporate communications and brand management initiatives.
As CCO, Mark Onisk is responsible for leading the strategic direction, roadmap and development of Skillsoft’s content portfolio. Onisk, who joined Skillsoft via its acquisition of Element K in 2011, previously served as SVP of Skillsoft Books (formerly Books24x7). In that role, he successfully launched the company’s book summary product and increased its audiobook collection by more than 60%, making it the most extensive collection of audiobooks within the corporate learning market.
“Tara and Mark are exceptional leaders. Their track records at Skillsoft Group are second to none. I’m thrilled to have them on our leadership team,” said Chad Gaydos, Chief Operating Officer of the Skillsoft Group. “As we continue to grow and expand Skillsoft and SumTotal, Tara and Mark will be instrumental in leading the company’s marketing and content initiatives, respectively, which are both integral to our continued success.”
“If I have learned anything from my experience at Skillsoft, it’s that effective marketing plays a significant role in communicating the business value of the Skillsoft, Percipio and SumTotal brands,” said O’Sullivan. “When I first joined the company, my time was split between marketing and product management. Having successfully updated Skillsoft’s content portfolio, I am excited to focus on implementing a holistic and strategic approach to marketing that will fuel the growth of our three brands.”
“The quality and richness of Skillsoft’s content portfolio is one of the company’s critical differentiators, and it has enabled us to become the global leader in corporate learning,” said Onisk. “I look forward to leveraging my experience in creating industry-leading learning solutions to build upon this foundation and develop transformational products that inspire people to achieve their fullest potential.”
